Thomas Adewumi University is inviting applications for internship under the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) program. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, technical training, and professional development in ICT-related fields.

Duration: Minimum 3 months, maximum 1 year
Location: Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese, Kwara State

AVAILABLE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NETWORKING

Interns in this category will work on:

1. Design, installation, and maintenance of LAN infrastructure
2. Fiber maintenance and troubleshooting
3. CCTV installation, configuration, and maintenance
4. Other networking-related tasks as required

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Interns in this category will be responsible for:

1. Developing software solutions for the university
2. Maintaining and improving existing applications
3. Assisting with CBT (Computer-Based Testing) exams and administration
4. Providing general ICT support to staff and students

ELIGIBILITY

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Associate Professor of Security and Criminology Studies. This is a full-time faculty position within the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Managemnt and Social Sciences at our institution. We seek a distinguished scholar with a strong research and teaching background in security studies, criminology, law enforcement, counterterrorism, cybercrime, or related fields.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in security and criminology studies.
• Supervision of student research, including undergraduate projects, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations.
• Conducting and publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals.
• Developing and enhancing the curriculum in line with global trends and industry needs.
• Securing external research funding and contributing to collaborative research initiatives.
• Providing academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and students.
• Participating in departmental and university-wide service activities.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in Security Studies, Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of five to seven years of teaching experience at the university level (For Reader and Snr Lecturer). 
• A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and research in security and criminology-related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and lead research projects.
• Experience in developing academic programs and curricula.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Professional experience in security, law enforcement, or related sectors is an advantage.
